If you and your children are suffering from the effects of domestic violence, please call us to see how our services can help you.

La Casa offers comprehensive services through its Children and Youth program for children ages 3 to 18. This is because we know through research that without intervention, most children witnesses of domestic violence can become abusers or abused as adults. Children can receive services as residents and/or as non-residents.

Through educational play groups and individual sessions, we address safety and teach children to value self-care and self-respect. We promote healthy relationships and discuss safe and healthy ways to prevent aggression and to avoid abusive relationships. These activities are complemented by play, music and art therapy sessions weekly in collaboration with community partners and volunteers.

We also encourage children to work with a licensed therapist, when appropriate. In conjunction with the program, we work with the parent or guardian on healthy parenting skills.

We utilize the validated and effective “Safe & Together” curriculum, the “Circle of Security” curriculum and “A Windows Between Worlds” curriculum to provide comprehensive services to children witnesses of domestic violence.
